I'm John. I'm a retired Air Force master sergeant, and present Wal-Mart night shifter. I scan messages looking for anti-Biblical ideas, and think of a sarcastic way to rebut them. On my better days, I try to drive to the underlying principle.

I sure do agree with that. I worked for Wal-Mart for some nine months. When I left I was really working three jobs, but what caused me to leave was the change in scheduling. They told us that what the computer spit out couldn't be changed. So I could work 4 a.m.-1 p.m. on monday and then work 1 p.m.-10 p.m on tuesday. Crazy stuff.

It is amazing the great Wal of China stretches so far and through every town in this country.

Which is a lie, of course. Anything a computer does can be changed.

Yesterday, another one of our night managers quit. This was the second one since I signed on, and it's only been six months.
