Hi from Edmonton, Canada!

Hello everyone,

I was directed here by Sonnie and am looking forward to participating in discussions on this forum.

A little about me first of all, I am 39 years old and have grown up in Edmonton Alberta Canada. My faith in Christ is relatively strong but as we all know make mistakes along the way. I have attended the same local church since I was 6 years old and love it there. My home church is NorthPointe Community Church formally Central Pentecostal Tabernacle affiliated with the Assemblies of God in the US.
I love the Lord so much but always find it so hard to read my bible (I am not much of a book reader) so I am hopping that being a member of this forum will hold me accountable to do more reading of scripture as I am one to strongly believe that the Bible is our instruction manual for life on earth.
I am married with 5 girls aged 2-15 and just recently moved into a house that we just love.

Hope to see all of you around here as the days come and go.
God bless you all and have a great day.

Tony

Welcome to the forum, Tony.

Looking forward to studying with you. I'm not big on reading either ... but I love doing research in the Bible. It starts me with a point of interest and helps me go into places that I either never knew, didn't realize or forgot were in there!

Nice of you to join us.

In Christian Love ....

Re: Hi from Edmonton, Canada!

Hi Tony... glad to see you made it over.

Up until a few years ago, I never enjoyed reading either. I mainly just listened to what others told me. One day I realized that what I was being taught was not totally accurate and that my soul depended on understanding the truth. I started studying and as I starting learning the truth, reading and studying brought on a whole new meaning and became enjoyable. I read all day long now. Of course, not just the Bible, but I am on forums a lot, as you already know... and I do a lot of study reading to prepare lessons and have discussions.

I want to read and study to show myself approved and to be able to rightly divide the Word... (2Tim 2:15)

The Bible is no doubt our instruction manual for life... it gives us all things (everything) we need for life and godliness... (2Peter 1:3) and it alone is able to make us complete (2Tim 3:16-17). We need nothing else other than the Word of God. The Word of God is able to save our souls (James 1:21).

Re: Hi from Edmonton, Canada!

Hi Tony nice to meet you

I"m not much of a reader either ...until it comes to our Holy Scripture I agree with you that it is ALL we need and when I find my quiet moments to sit down and read it, it's always SO hard to put down!

I look forward to getting to know you and your wife...you're about the same age as me ( I'm 37yrs. old) so it will be nice to fellowship with a couple who has things in common with me ( my husband and I have 4 children ; our youngest is 18 months and our oldest will be 16 next week...ugh! I can't believe it!)

Anyhow...welcome...and God bless you and your family
