Hello from Stony Point, Arkansas

I just sign up to join this Christian Forum and have read a few of the threads and postings. Sounds like a wonderful place to join the bible discussions.

I am 77 years old and I received the Holy Spirit in 1941 at the age of 11 Years. Through the years there have been highs and lows in my service to our Lord Jesus. He has never failed me even though I failed many times.

I still love the bible and study and learn each day. I am looking forward to fellow servants of our Lord to
enlighten me even more and I pray that I can be a source of help to you.

Most people call me Sonny, but I choose the present site name because you have a bro sonnie on this forum. God bless all

Welcome to the forum, Sonny.

I am glad you enjoy Bible study and have an attitude of learning…I approach the scriptures in the same way too. We look forward to studying God’s word with you, also.

Hi Joe: I was saved in the Holiness-Jesus Name church in 194l and was baptized in Jesus name. Through the years (66) to be exact (this spring) I have had ups and downs in my christian experence.
I have failed many times in the things our Lord commanded us to do, But I am thankful that we have an advocate with God, Jesus Christ the righteous. If we confess our sins he will forgive us.

I live between Conway and Houston,Ar just off Hwy Ar. 60, probably not as big as Alpine.

I was led by the spirit to begin in the ministery in 1975. With in 2 weeks of accepting the leading of the Spirit I was called to pastor in a Southern Baptist church. I approched the leaders of the church and confessed that I was of another faith but they still wanted me to minister to them. I accepted. I ministered and tought them for a little over 3 years.

I have helped in several different denominations. I was then called by a United Methodist church to Pastor them. The people knew me and knew what I believed and the Superintendant of the section came to visit me and finally the elders of the section selected me as worthy to serve. I do not try to change the doctrine of a church or the members beliefs, just present the scriptures and let the Holy Spirit do the work.

At the present, because of my wife's arthritis and inability to sit on the pews, we do not attend worship service. I try to visit with people (especially on PC) to have christian fellowship.

I am trying to study, Learn and present other points of view on this forum. Much to my dismay I feel that I have been accosted by some of the teachers and don't know if I can stay much longer. I know that the bible is not of a private interpretation and my point may not be correct according to some of the teachers belief, But it could be a point of study.

I am beginning to believe that they are trying to convert to their thinking instead of studying the scriptures. If we study the scriptures, the Holy Ghost will lead us in all truths.

My life and some of my thoughts. My our Lord bless you.
