Hello from Nashville, AR

I have enjoyed much of the content and look forward to learning even more from some of the fine posters here.

I am a member here: http://www.sunsetcoc.com/index.htm

although I spend 3 Sundays a month worshipping with other congregations.

Thank you all, it's Ed by the way...EWilliams just seems too formal.

Hello Ed-

I know of Umpire and Ball's Chapel. I grew up knowing the Copeland boys from there. Mike and I helped start the Bismarck church. Nathan was one of my favorite places to preach. I was there in 97-98 right after the "split." At that time there were around 48 or so attending, but no one would serve as an elder. Put Russell and I preached there on alternate Sundays. I understand now it has really dwindled down, which is a shame.

They are averaging about 38-40 now...still no elders.

Rick takes the PM service on the 4th Sunday at Nathan so I can teach a Sunday night class at Sunset, his sister attends there.

Re: Hello from Nashville, AR

Then they are having better than what I had heard. I had heard it was down to a handful. I knew some had probably died, like Granville Westfall. He was pretty old when I was there.

Hollis was by far my favorite there. He and I did a lot of backwoods roaming between services.

I haven't been back there in years. I would love to see them again one of these days.

I tried to get them to ordain elders a decade ago--they have qualified men, but no interest.
