The Tabernacle = Life of Christ

Christ was the Angel of the Lord, who also was the pillar of fire at night and the cloud by day. So when Moses went into the Holy of Holies he was talking to Christ. When the time was right, God sent forth His Son into the world, to come out from behind the curtain.

Inside the Ark of the Covenant
The Ten commandments represent Jesus for He is the Word.
The Jar of Manna represents Jesus for He is the Bread of Life.
Aaron's budded represents Jesus for He is the Resurrection.

The Altar of Incense
Represents the prayers of the people who were asking God for the Savior. It is in Lk.1 we receive the first insight that the Savior was coming. Here we have Zacharias serving at the altar of incense and he meets Gabriel who tells him he shall have a child and he will be the forerunner of the Christ. Zacharias comes out and can't say a word, the first stone is cast into the pond which has been still for 400 years and the first ripple now runs through Israel.

The Lampstand
Represents the Holy Spirit, which illumines the Holy Place for the priests to see to work. Jesus parents bring Him to dedicate Him at the temple and Simeon takes the child and holds Him up for all to see and the HS speaks through Him saying, This is the consolation of Israel, Then Anna the prophetess adds more wonderful words, Jesus' get Him out of there and nobody knows who the baby is. Lk.2:21ff

The Table of Shewbread
Represents communion with God's people, 12 loaves represent 12 tribes. When Jesus is 12 yrs old, his parents find Him after searching for 3 days, at the Temple, astounding the elders with His questions and His answers but they take Him away before anyone knows who He is. Lk.2:41-52

The Laver
Represents baptism, this is where the priests wash before entering the Holy Place. John the Baptist baptizes Jesus in the Jordan river as His coming out party, and John tells everyone this is the One. Lk.3:21-22

The Altar of Incense
Is where the people lay their sacrifice, this represents the spot where we die to ourselves, here is when Jesus is tempted by Satan, but Jesus dies to Himself, "it is written". Lk.4:1-13

The Doorway
Represents the Word of God, Jesus in Lk.4 stands up in the synagogue and declares He is the fulfillment of Isaiah the prophet He just read. Lk.4:14-27

Now Jesus steps out into the world and spends 3 years doing His ministry.
He is our Prophet as He teaches us the word of God.
He is our High Priest as He lays His life down on the cross.
He is our King of Kings as He sits now on the throne in heaven.

The Tabernacle represents the life of Christ. It shadows the Son of God coming into the world to die for our sins.
