My eldest son

All,

I would appreciate prayers for my eldest son. He is having problems blacking out. We took him to the doctor today, and the doc ordered a bunch of tests, including a brain MRI. On the positive side, the doctor said, "no driving", so I guess I'm off the hook in getting him that learner's permit any time soon.

Re: My eldest son

Laura, my prayers are with you and your son. What is his name ?

I know how scary that can be. Our son ( who is about your age) had a serious Pulmonary Embolism a few years back. It was a life and death situation.

Re: My eldest son

Thanks Robert, Marian. We do greatly appreciate the prayers.

His name is Kirk. He has been experiencing periods of extreme dizziness, loss of periphery vision (tunnel vision), and double vision for about a year. The episodes have grown more frequent over the past month or so, to the point of occurring multiple times per day. I experienced the same as a teen, except for the double vision part, so when he described what was happening, I immediately recognized it. Whatever it was, I grew out of it, so I don't think it is life-threatening, but it sure is scary. I remember that part well. He hasn't fully passed out -- yet. I did a few times. Stopping, grabbing onto anything to hold your balance, and remaining still until it passes will stop the fainting. My folks didn't take me to the doctor so I never found the cause. Hopefully they can find the cause for Kirk.

My prayers are with you and your son. May he have a complete recovery and you have the strength to see him through this difficulty.

Re: My eldest son

Thank you all. He's being a typical teenage boy. "Mom, why are you making such a big deal out of this?" How about, "That ain't normal!!!"
