| Our favorite congress-person...
... Nancy is at it again. I found this while looking for news for my Thursday "Religion in the News Posting" That I do on the http://mydailypause.org site. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...1.4ddf2e1.html Basically, she wants to reinstate the law that requires opposing views to be allowed to be aired on stations that have a message. This would mean a church station would have to allow up to 33% of it's time to atheists if they wanted it. ...b

Since it is the radio waves that give the govt regulatory control, I doubt the law would apply. It wouldn't be beyond the imagination to think they would give it a try though.

The "fairness doctrine", as this idea is referred to, has nothing to do with fairness. It is simply about stamping out another viewpoint. The real impetus for this being talked about is the fact that conservative talk radio dominates the airwaves when it comes to political talk. Liberal stations and hosts have tried to make it work, but have always failed. This is something that should be vehemently opposed.
