Yep. I will come!

I suggest the theme "Introducing The Church of Christ". It can be used to also evangelize those in the community.

Re: First Annual BTF Lectureship

Or, we could gather at Steven's house and grill some steaks, have some soda and enjoy some homemade ice cream. Robert could bring his Canadian translation of the Bible.

I'm free next week

To Robert, the more of these meetings the better. The where and the when determine if I can go.

Don I would love that. If we could get some people out in the community where the meeting is held about a week before it starts, we could really cover some ground!

On behalf of the admin of the site, I would like for everyone to please send brother Don your generous contributions. Please make all payments in monopoly cash. He likes the $100.00 bills best because of the color yellow.

Again Don, I have some great stock that I will pay you with. Just a small transaction fee and its yours. The stock has been in my family since the great depression! Just think how much appreciation in price it has seen. Anybody want to guess what stock I am talking about? HINT it was just acquired by the largest employer in the United States!

I'm going to pass Brother Lee, But I do have some little piece of paper around here for some company with an "Apple" on it. Probably just a scrap of paper that is not worth anything.... if I find it you can have it and add it to your "junk pile".

Re: First Annual BTF Lectureship

My mother went to visit a shut in once and she showed her some stack of papers put in a cabinet above her refrigerator. It was a stack of old stock that said, "Wal Mart". She said her husband bought some of this when Sam first started selling his idea to people.

She said she would give it to her only son some day. A son who drove a brand new red pickup and was a grown man, yet charged his parents money to mow their lawn and fix their sink.

True story.

Well that fruit company is worth alot more than AIG. My great-grandfather invested his hard-earned money in American General, during the depression. Even though they had little he thought it would be worth something, and it turned into a great investment. He passed the stock down to his son, who in turn passed it on to his two children. Somewhere along the line AIG purchased this fine company. Stock changed from American General to AIG.

Its not really the money, my father really doesn't know how much stock he owns, probably not much after it being divided, but it is sentimentality. This would have been one of the few things that connected the Parish clan.

Just goes to show you that nothing in this world is permanent. Even though this country and its financial system is probably the best that has ever existed on this earth, it is seriously flawed because people are flawed. Gives me a better appreciation of the steadfastness, and sturdiness of God. While the world my fluctuate, while countries rise and fall, the Creator is still there as True, and Just, and Holy as ever!
