| Walk Circumspectly
“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Eph. 5:15-16). In our walk to achieve holiness and imitate God; have you ever considered what it means to “walk circumspectly?” What did the inspired apostle Paul mean, what was the message he was trying to covey to the saints at Ephesus by using this term? “Circumspectly” as used here is an adverb which means; according to Webster, to “walk careful to consider all circumstances and possible consequences.” If we take Webster’s definition then the above verse would read, “See then that ye walk ‘careful to consider all circumstances and possible consequences’, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” I remember as a young teenager being at my Aunt’s house in her backyard and watching her cat carefully walking the top of her backyard fence with a mad, barking dog looking up. This cat’s legs were erect, his tail up, his eyes on the dog and the top of the narrow board all at the same time…being ever so careful in each step he took. That cat was ‘considering all circumstances and possible consequences’ should he fall. He was walking, “circumspectly!” Let us remember to always “walk worthy of the calling with which you were called” (Eph. 4:1). Prudently walking “in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4) with all “love” (Eph. 5:2), “good works” (Eph. 2:10), and with all “wisdom” (Col. 4:5) in order that we might “please God” (1 Thess. 4:1). Knowing that if we consider not our walk with its circumstances and possible consequences we are apt to walk in “darkness” (1 John 1:6) because we heed not to His “commandments” (2 John 1:6). Consequences of the circumstances will determine where we will spend eternity; be cautious, “walk circumspectly.” In fellowship,

| Re: Walk Circumspectly
This is an outstanding subject and possible lesson guide, especially for the young and teenage group. I'm afraid that sometimes we fail and not "think through" the consequences of our actions. (This goes for us older folks also).
