| Re: The Sin of Worry
Lee, Thank you so much. This is probably the biggest area where I fail. It is so difficult. I wonder sometimes if a failure to stop worrying is nothing less than a lack of faith and trust in God? I have a question about what you have said here. You say that worry 'indicates a longing for the physical, and attachment to that which is described as "the world".' What about when we worry about the health and well-being of the church and our brethren? Is that too sinful?

Now like all good things we can take it too far. If we concern ourselves too severely we can overstep from Godly concern to needless worry. I hope that helps clear that up. Brotherly, Lee

| Re: The Sin of Worry
“Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” This verse came to my mind the other day after I planted my cantaloupes in the garden for the second time. This long-billed bird is coming in behind me and eating my cantaloupe seed! I don’t know what kind he is, but he must be able to smell because he knows “exactly” where to stick his beak into the ground and eat the seed. All the while I am thinking, God is supposed to feed you, not me. ![]() I now have plastic drinking cups over the seed hills until the cantaloupes come up. Plus, I have sheet iron (tin) around my garden to keep the rabbits out. It’s war, almost. Thanks for your reminder, Lee. I needed to be reminded of such things. We too are suffering the effects of crop losses and such because of the weather. I suppose we had sandstorms almost every day this past week. I mean, we are having 100 degree temperatures with 40-60 mph winds. That’s like sticking your head into a “corn dryer.” brotherly,

We are told to plan and be careful. But to worry about everything that may come our way...that is where our faith can be shaken and worn away by Satan!
