| Will God Really Provide
When I was a child I would tell my Mom how I wished I were grown up. She would tell me, you don’t need to worry about that, God will provide. When I was a boy I would tell my dad how I wished I could find a career that would make me wealthy. He would tell me, you don’t need to worry about that, do what you can and God will provide. When I was a teenager I would say to my friends how I wished I could find someone special to spend my life with. Don’t worry, they said. God will provide. When I became an adult I would tell my spouse how I wished we could have a child. Don’t worry about that, she said. God will provide. When I became old, I told my children, when I die, I hope I go to heaven. Don’t worry, they said. God will provide. When I died and went before God and told Him how I hoped He would forgive me. What do you think God would say? Maybe: Did you seek first My kingdom? Did you love your neighbor as yourself? Did you seek the lost? Did visit the needy and help them? Did you seek the counsel of My Word first? Did you love My church more than the world? My promise was to you and all who wish to abide with me forever is that all who seek first the kingdom and my righteousness will have all things provided. Question to the reader: We all want things but have we ever considered what God asks of us if we really wish to have a fulfilling life in the flesh AND the spirit? What good are the fulfilled desires in the flesh when looking into the afterlife of eternity? Study Verses: Matthew 6:31-35 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 7:21-22 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ Matthew 25:34-40 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ Luke 14:25-33 25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. 1 John 5:2-4 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our[a] faith. Ephesians 2:8-10 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Titus 3:6-9 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. James 2:16-18 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your[a] works, and I will show you my faith by my[b] works. John 15:7-8 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[a] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 8:31-32 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Ecclesiastes 12 1 Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “ I have no pleasure in them”: 2 While the sun and the light, The moon and the stars, Are not darkened, And the clouds do not return after the rain; 3 In the day when the keepers of the house tremble, And the strong men bow down; When the grinders cease because they are few, And those that look through the windows grow dim; 4 When the doors are shut in the streets, And the sound of grinding is low; When one rises up at the sound of a bird, And all the daughters of music are brought low. 5 Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way; When the almond tree blossoms, The grasshopper is a burden, And desire fails. For man goes to his eternal home, And the mourners go about the streets. 6 Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed,[a] Or the golden bowl is broken, Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, Or the wheel broken at the well. 7 Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it. 8 “ Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher, “ All is vanity.” 9 And moreover, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yes, he pondered and sought out and set in order many proverbs. 10 The Preacher sought to find acceptable words; and what was written was upright—words of truth. 11 The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars[b] are like well-driven nails, given by one Shepherd. 12 And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh. 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. 14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil. Revelation 22:12-13 12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” |

| Re: Will God Really Provide Quote:
In the the written word of God is expressed the answer to every human need from the mundane to the profound. Or in other words, God has provided...in His written word... for every human need from the mundane to the profound. Here is just one example: Ehyeh asher Ehyeh (eh-YEH' a-sher' eh-YEH') I AM THAT I AM. (Exodus 3:14; cp. John 8:58). This is the name of God given to Moses. God's own name answers a lot of our needs (also see post http://www.bibletruthforums.com/deno....html#post9136 showing how that the human body is formed into the shape of the name of God) - Who is able to save me? God says "I AM" Who will provide all that I need to follow Jesus? God says "I AM" Who will love me when no one else in the world will? God says "I AM" Who will weep with me when I weep? God says "I AM" Who will rejoice with me when I rejoice? God says "I AM" Who will be with me when all the world has forsaken me? God says "I AM" Who will help me get through trials, temptations, and hardships as well as good times? God says "I AM" Now here is one that all christians ponder: God, how is it possible for you to be omnipresent, to be everywhere all at the same time? God says (paraphrasing all from Genesis 1 through Rev 22), "the only thing you need to know is that I AM." Quote:

In case anyone's wondering why I didn't document the above posts with detailed scripture quotations - it is my way to get others to participate by digging into the scriptures themselves. Many brethren here do recognize the underlying scripture texts, and I can learn from their contribution as well. For anyone who doesn't know the texts - just ask, there are many of us here ready to give a detailed answer.
