| Re: Commentary? Wikistyle?
It really won't take a lot of space. I have the KJV Bible with a bit of HTML markup and it's just a few megs in the MySQL database. Bandwidth requirements will be the part we'll have to fight the most once it gets popular (and it will get popular )Until we know what it's going to look like, we can't even work on the technical details except to study the various content management systems out there.

I was messin around with some ideas today. I had about an hour with nothing to do while I was waitin on something. http://granbychurchofchrist.org/Bibl...tary/Index.htm That is a triple shared border template I whipped up. It is redicuously simple and easy to work with.

I love my brethren..yes, God knows I do. All of you show me daily that fellowship in Christ CAN happen and it is a myth it cannot or that we need to compromise the Truth to do so. We are just getting started. :-) |

It's just an html page. I'm lookin at ways to submit to it with a simple form. Ya'll go ahead on with your content managers. I'm just playin around with some things for my own curiosity. Don't pay me any attention. I'm just fiddlin with some ideas.

I can help get the pretty. We need to have what we want it to do figured out as much as possible so that it can be engineered from the ground up. I'm not familiar with how word press works but I know with html it's easier to put it all in at the design stage than to add it later on.

Agreed. The design and platform would depend on whether we want a wiki style or an article submission style. Then if we are to support the idea of a printed version and the cross platform support for e-sword etc. the export functionality will have to be addressed. I'm getting pretty anxious now ... I am about to finish up a study on the denominational use of Mark 9:38-40 that I need to publish somewhere ![]() ...b

A new idea... After looking at some of the great discussions that have occured on here, I'm led to think that we can use a technique that I have seen as documentation to various products using these forum packages. At the top of a new thread a "clean" post can be made of some subject - Take our Holy Spirit discussion for instance... After the article is posted, the thread below can be used for discussion and peer review and the top post can be edited as needed and the discussion is retained as sort of an audit trail on how we got to a certain point .... Points of dissent can be noted .... you get the idea.... For seekers and learners, separate threads can be broken off to discuss finer points of the article and of course the articles can become reference to other discussions that need to look back at previously beaten horses. This should be fairly easy to implement given the volume of quality threads laying around on here. ...b
