Number of Immersions at Baptism

This may be considered an insignificant question and taking up space, but I think it is an interesting and important one if we are ever approached with it.

We are baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins. (ref. Acts 2:38) When I was a member of the Eastern Orthodox Church, when someone was baptised for the remission of their sins, they were immersed three times: one for the Father; one for the Son; and one for the Holy Spirit. (ref. Matt. 28:19) Is this unscriptural or just a matter of opinion?

Blessings,
Pam
